Upon arrival in Oxford, you can go with your guide on a 45-minute walking tour through the heart of the city. This way, you can learn more about the history of the most famous sights and get to know the city. Your guide will also make recommendations about things to do and places to eat! We allow a minimum 2.5 hours in the city of Oxford, so you can fully immerse yourself in the sightseeing experience. There is so much to do, with famous university buildings like the Sheldonian Theatre and the Bodleian Library alongside places with links to Harry Potter, Narnia and Alice in Wonderland.

Is there a guide at Stonehenge?

Our tour includes commentary from a guide on the journey. At Stonehenge, you’ll have free time to explore, and you can use the official audio guides or ask your tour guide questions before or after your visit.

What should I wear or bring?

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and dressing in layers, as the weather can be unpredictable. Don’t forget a raincoat or umbrella, especially outside of summer.

Departure time: 7:30am. Boarding begins at 7:00am. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before departure to ensure you are on time.

Walking Time: Approximately 5 minutes walk from South Kensington Underground Station. Reachable by the Circle line, District line and Piccadilly line. 

Journey

  • Approximately 1.5 hours journey time to the Stonehenge site.
  • Approximately 1.5 hours journey time from Stonehenge to the city of Oxford.
  • Approximately 2 hours journey time from Oxford back to your pickup location in London.

Time

  • 7:30 Depart from South Kensington. There will be a short stop at services on the way to Stonehenge for your comfort.
  • 9:30 (approx.) Be among the first tour groups to arrive at the Stonehenge site.
  • You have a total of at least 1 hour to spend at Stonehenge. Enjoy the monument, the landscape and the visitor centre. Your tour guide will distribute your admission tickets which allow you access to the Stonehenge site. Enjoy a walk or shuttle bus straight to the monument upon arrival. We recommend taking the shuttle bus directly to the stones to beat the crowds. The walk from the visitor centre to Stonehenge takes approximately 30 minutes.
  • 12:00 Depart from Stonehenge from the coach park, travel through beautiful countryside to Oxford.
  • 13:30 (approx.) Arrive in Oxford. Optional walking tour through Oxford takes about 45 minutes.
  • 16:00 Depart from Oxford. Journey back to London takes around 2 hours, depending on traffic.

  • Arrive back in London at approximately 6:00pm to be dropped off at your starting location, just by the Natural History Museum.
